Owen Garrick, MD - Board President   ogarrick@sheltonsprimary.net

Dr. Garrick is Chief Operating Officer of HOV Clinical Research which engages in clinical trials in the cardiovascular, diabetes and anti-infective therapeutic areas.  He most recently oversaw mergers and acquisitions for McKesson Corporation (an $80 billion company) as Director of Corporate Strategy and Business Development.

 

Prior to McKesson, he was Co-Head of Mergers and Acquisitions for Novartis Pharma where he led the company's global M&A activities. His Wall Street investment banking background includes a stint as Vice President at Goldman Sachs & Company in NYC.

 

Dr. Garrick received his undergraduate degree at Princeton University, his MBA from the Wharton School of Business and an M.D. from the Yale School of Medicine.

Andrea Lowe - Board Vice President  alowe@sheltonsprimary.net

Andrea Lowe is the Director, of Community Affairs for Turner Construction Company one of the nation’s largest commercial construction management companies.  She is responsible for the companies philanthropic and volunteer efforts as well as their utilization of local, small, and minority owned businesses.

 

Previously Andrea was the Executive Director for INROADS/Northern California and prior to this position held various human resources assignments with Bank of America. 

 

She received her BA from the University of California at Berkeley, and holds a Masters degree in Applied Psychology from Golden Gate University.  Andrea is involved in several community and non-profit boards.

 

 

 

Jocelyn Garrick, MD Secretary  jgarrick@sheltonsprimary.net

Dr Freeman Garrick is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of California at San Francisco and an Attending Physician at the Alameda County Medical Center’s Emergency Department. She has over fifteen years teaching experience as a tutor, instructor and Professor. As Vice President of Mentoring in Medicine, she developed the science curriculum for youth to provide exposure to science in a fun, engaging manner to grammar and middle school children. Jocelyn received her undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley, her MD from the University of Southern California and her MS from Cornell University Weill Medical College.

Harold Lowe is Senior Vice President of Private Wealth Management.
Mr. Lowe's mission is to help individuals, businesses, and organizations be
prepared for future opportunities while being better positioned to manage
unexpected challenges. He and his team develop financial strategies that
match a client's personal and financial goals.

Sharon Shelton McGaffie - smcgaffie@sheltonsprimary.net

Sharon Shelton McGaffie is Executive Director of Shelton's Primary Education Center (SPEC), a 37-year-old preschool through 5th grade institution located in Berkeley, CA.  She has been in this role for more than 32 years. She was a key contributor in launching the school, which was started by her parents. Prior to taking on the responsibly as Executive Director, she was a math teacher at SPEC to 2nd – 5th graders. A career spent in youth development, Mrs. McGaffie's background reflects a solid academic history, holding a BA Degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Education from the University of California, Berkeley, 1973; and a MA Degree in Early Childhood Education from Atlanta University, Atlanta Georgia, 1974.  She also holds a Child Development Director Permit from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. In her spare time, Mrs. McGaffie contributes to various organizations in the community that support the upliftment of people of color.
